December 2 (SeeNews) - The foreign exchange reserves held by Romania's central bank, excluding gold, fell to 45.594 billion euro ($47.974 billion) at the end of November, from 46.291 billion euro a month earlier, the central bank said on Friday.
Foreign exchange inflows amounted to 2.187 billion euro representing changes in credit institutions’ foreign currency-denominated required reserves, inflows into the finance ministry's accounts and inflows into the European Commission (EC) accounts and other, the bank said in its monthly statement.
Foreign exchange outflows totaled 2.884 billion euro, representing changes in credit institutions’ foreign currency-denominated required reserves, interest payments and principal repayments on foreign currency public debt and other.
The gold reserves of the central bank remained steady at 103.6 tonnes. However, following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to 5.634 billion euro at the end of October.
The international reserves of Romania, including foreign currencies and gold, stood at 51.228 billion euro as of the end of November, compared to 51.786 billion euro a month earlier.
In December, the payments due on the foreign currency-denominated public and publicly guaranteed debt will amount to approximately 205 million euro.
