December 2 (SeeNews) - The foreign exchange reserves held by Romania's central bank, excluding gold, totalled 33.393 billion euro ($40.236 billion) at the end of November, up from 33.795 billion euro a month earlier, the central bank said on Wednesday.
Foreign exchange inflows amounted to 1.142 billion euro representing changes in credit institutions’ foreign currency-denominated required reserves, inflows into the finance ministry accounts including the amount from the issuance of bonds with nominal value of 1.647 billion euro on the domestic market and other.
Foreign exchange outflows totaled 1.544 billion euro, representing payments on the foreign public debt, changes in credit institutions’ foreign currency-denominated required reserves and other.
The gold reserves of the central bank remained unchanged at 103.6 tonnes. However, following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to 5.054 billion euro at the end of November.
The international reserves of Romania, including foreign currencies and gold, totalled 38.447 billion euro as of end-November, compared to 39.147 billion euro a month earlier.
