April 16 (SeeNews) - Romania's road infrastructure company CNAIR said on Friday that it has signed a 41.7 million lei ($10 million/8.5 million euro) contract for the construction of a bypass road with a consortium comprised of three Romanian companies and a Bulgarian one.
The works should be completed in 12 months, with a five-year warranty period, CNAIR said in a press release.
The contract envisages the continuation of construction works for a 6,945 km bypass road near the eastern town of Tecuci in Galati county.
Works for the Tecuci bypass started in 2012, CNAIR data showed.
The financing for the project is provided from non-reimbursable EU funds.
The consortium comprises local firms Mavgo Holding, Antrepriza de Constructii Drumuri si Autostrazi (former Aqua Parc Construct), BDU Maxi Construct and Bulgarian civil engineering company Hydrostroy.
Antrepriza de Constructii Drumuri si Autostrazi is a road construction company established in 2004 in Neamt county, which employed 235 at the end of 2019, data from the finance ministry showed. Its peer
Mavgo Holding was founded in 2015 in Bacau county and had 184 employees at the end of last year.
Leasing and car rental company BDU Maxi Construct was founded in 2016 in Bucharest and employed 11 at end-2019.
Hydrostroy was founded in 1962 under the name Vodstroy – Varna. In 1970, it was renamed to SU Water Construction, to get its current name four years later.
