June 26 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector rose 3.2% year-on-year in May, at the same rate as in April, reaching 224.78 billion lei ($54.9 billion/49.2 billion euro), the central bank, BNR, said on Monday.
Private lending in lei increased 13.3% on the year to 133.2 billion lei in May, following a rise of 13.5% in April, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency decreased 8.7% to 91.57 billion lei, at the same rate as in April.
