The transport ministry estimates total revenues of 71.8 million lei in 2014, equal to the projected expenditures, according to the draft budget posted on its website.
The privatisation of rail freight carrier CFR Marfa, controlled by the transport ministry, failed in October after local privately-held railway operator Grup Feroviar Roman (GFR), which won a privatisation tender in June, failed to pay the price by the established deadline.
According to privatisation plans agreed with the IMF, Romania should sell minority stakes in key energy and transport companies.
