October 16 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate fell to 4.73% in September from 4.89% a month earlier, the government's employment agency, ANOFM, said.
The unemployment rate was 0.28 percentage points higher than in September 2012, ANOFM said in a statement posted on its website.
The number of unemployed people in Romania fell to 428,866 at the end of September from 443,610 at the end of August.
Last month, the southern county of Teleorman and the southwestern county of Mehedinţi registered the highest unemployment rates in the country, of 9.85% and 9.79%, respectively.
The sharpest monthly fall in jobless rate - by 1.86 percentage points, was registered in the northeastern county of Vaslui.
Romania's workforce is estimated at 9.3 million out of a population of some 20.1 million.
