September 24 (SeeNews) - Romania sold on Thursday 346.6 million lei ($83 million/71 million euro) worth of Treasury bonds maturing on January 26 2028, above initial target, central bank data showed.
Total bids placed totaled 575.5 million lei, above the sum asked by the ministry, the data indicated. The average yield was 3.40%.
The issue will be reopened on Friday when the finance ministry hopes to raise 30 million lei in a non-competitive tender.
At the last tender of the issue in July, the finance ministry rejected all bids.

Romania's finance ministry aims to sell domestic debt worth 4.54 billion lei in September, including 540 million lei at non-competitive tenders.
Year-to-date, the ministry has sold some 52.6 billion lei and 645 million euro ($763 million) worth of government bills and bonds and has tapped foreign markets for 6.3 billion euro of 2026, 2030, 2032 and 2050 Eurobonds.
It also sold 10-year dollar-denominated bonds worth $1.3 billion and $2 billion of 30-year bonds on the external market.
