Romania sold on Monday 505.3 million lei ($110.5 million/103.1 million euro) worth of Treasury notes maturing on October 30, 2028, above the 500 million lei target, central bank data showed.
The average accepted yield in the auction was 7.53%, compared to the 7.73% result achieved at the previous auction of government securities of the same issue held in January.
Demand for the T-notes, which carry an annual coupon of 8.75%, declined to 1.015 billion lei from 1.812 billion lei at the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Wednesday, when the finance ministry hopes to raise 75 million lei in a non-competitive tender.
