Romania's finance ministry sold 331 million lei ($72.7 million/66.9 million euro) worth of government bonds maturing on January 26, 2028, above its target volume, central bank data showed on Thursday.
The average accepted yield was 7.29%, compared to 7.69% achieved at the previous auction of government securities of the same issue held in December 2022.
Demand for the bonds, which carry an annual coupon of 4.15%, rose to 908 million lei in Thursday's auction from 485.3 million lei at the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Monday, when the finance ministry hopes to raise 45 million lei in a non-competitive tender.
