September 21 (SeeNews) - Romania's finance ministry sold on Monday two issues of Treasury notes worth a total 1.34 billion lei ($286.5 million/269.5 million euro), central bank data showed.
The finance ministry sold 625 million lei worth of T-bonds maturing on April 28, 2036 at Thursday's auction, above its 500-million-lei target, the central bank said in a data release.
The average accepted yield was 6.87%, compared to 6.74% achieved at the previous auction of government securities of the same issue held last month. Demand for the T-bonds, which carry an annual coupon of 4.25%, rose to 1.36 billion lei from 531 million lei at the previous auction.
The finance ministry also sold on Thursday 714.9 million lei worth of government bonds maturing on April 28, 2031, above target.
The average accepted yield went up to 6.83% from 6.76% achieved at the previous auction of bonds of the same issue held in August. Demand for the T-bonds carrying an annual coupon of 7.35% fell to 949.9 million lei from 968.1 million lei at the previous auction.
Both issues will be reopened on Monday when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional total 180 million lei for through non-competitive tenders.
