March 23 (SeeNews) - Romania has confirmed a total of 576 coronavirus cases as of Monday, compared to 433 a day earlier, data from the National Institute of Public Health, INSP, shows.
Four people diagnosed with the new coronavirus died over the weekend and on Monday, according to health ministry data.
At the same time 73 people have recoved and have been discharged from hospital.
As of Monday, 5,066 people are in quarantine in Romania, while the condition of 72,247 people staying at home is being monitored.
On Saturday evening, the interior ministry announced that shopping malls and dental clinics will be closed and imposed a curfew from 22.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. The ministry also recommended that during the day people avoid unnecessary trips and go out only for work, to buy medicine or food.
The Romanian authorities declared a 30-day state of emergency on March 16 in order to be able to tackle the coronavirus disease outbreak more efficiently.
During the last two weeks, Romania closed public and private schools, restaurants, bars and prohibited the gatherings of over 1,000 people until March 31 to curb the spread of the virus.
