May 17 (SeeNews) - Romania posted the highest annual inflation rate among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) in April, at 10.4%, closely followed by Bulgaria with 10.3%, the EU's statistical office said on Wednesday.
In contrast, Greece recorded the lowest annual inflation among EU members in SEE last month, at 4.5%, below the EU average of 8.1%, Eurostat said in a data release.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia registered the steepest increase in consumer prices among EU states in SEE in April, at 1.2%, while Bulgaria marked the lowest inflation rate, at 0.5%.
EU-wide, consumer prices rose by a monthly 0.6% on average in April.
