June 24 (SeeNews) - Romania posted the second highest year-on-year increase in construction output among EU member states in April - by 31.2%, the bloc’s statistical office Eurostat said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania recorded the highest increase among EU28 in April, as its construction output grew by 6.2%, Eurostat said in a statement last week.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe (SEE), Bulgaria's construction output increased by 5.9% on the year and was 0.4% higher month-on-month.
Slovenia’s construction output was 6.0% higher on the year in April., However, the country posted the fastest decline on a monthly comparison basis, of 7.4%.
Data for the another EU member in SEE, Croatia, was not available.
On average, construction output in the EU rose by an annual 4.5%, mostly from civil engineering production, and was 0.6% lower month-on-month.
