December 18 (SeeNews) - Romania posted the sharpest year-on-year increase, by 24.6%, in construction production among EU member states for which data is available in October, the bloc’s statistical office said on Wednesday.
Romania had the highest increase in construction output among EU member states in the previous month as well - of 30.8%.
Bulgaria reported the third-highest annual increase after Hungary, as its construction output grew by 3.1%, Eurostat said in a statement.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania posted the second-highest decrease in construction output, after Poland - by 3.4%, while Slovenia posted the highest monthly increase, of 5.1%.
Data for Greece and Croatia for the month of October was not available.
On average, construction output in the EU edged down by 0.2% on an annual and decreased by 1.2 on a monthly comparison basis.
