January 27 (SeeNews) - Romania's government said that the country has received a grant worth CHF 221.5 million ($240.5 million/220.9 million euro) from Switzerland to reduce social and economic disparities.
The grant was signed between the two countries in December in Bucharest, the government said on Thursday.
Among others, funds will be used for promoting economic growth and social dialogue, cutting down the unemployment rate among youth, and increasing public safety and security measures in the country.
Romania must spend the received funds by December 3, 2029. During this time, Switzerland may visit, oversee and evaluate all activities and procedures related to implementing projects funded through the grant.
