August 4 (SeeNews) - Romania's central bank, BNR, maintained on Friday its monetary policy rate at record low 1.75%, in line with analysts' expectations.
BNR's board also decided to maintain the minimum reserve requirement ratios on both leu and foreign currency-denominated deposits at 8%, the central bank said in a statement.
The bank last changed its monetary policy rate in May 2015, when it cut it by 25 basis points to 1.75%.
Romania's annual consumer price inflation quickened to 0.9% in June from 0.6% in May, reaching a 25-month high.
In May, BNR lowered its 2017 inflation forecast to 1.6% from previously projected 1.7%, adding that a downward revision of the inflation projection could delay a hike of its key rate planned for 2018.
