May 17 (SeeNews) - UK-based enterprise communications services provider RETN said it has completed the second phase of its fibre network route connecting the Bulgarian capital Sofia with Budapest in Hungary and has enhanced network diversity by transiting Romania.
The new route, Budapest BIX - Timisoara - Sofia Equinix SO2, is 1,080 kilometres long and complements the Budapest Dataplex - Belgrade - Sofia Telepoint route, which was announced in October, RETN said in a press release on Tuesday.
The diversification of the network, which in Sofia involves data centres of Equinix and Telepoint, will enable the fibre network provider to offer new capacity and fast connectivity to customers using latest generation cloud infrastructure such as 400G.
The London-based company provides telecommunication and connectivity services such as IP transit, Ethernet and VPN to some 1,700 clients, according to its website.
