April 5 (SeeNews) - Serbian retailer Idea, a subsidiary of Croatia's Agrokor, said it launched the first ATM that allows the acquisition and sale of cryptocurrencies in Serbia, in the capital Belgrade.
The ATM allows the acquisition and sale of Bitcoin and Litecoin cryptocurrencies and is installed in a store under the Idea London brand, the retailer said in a statement on Wednesday.
A team of Serbian cryptocurrency exchange operator ECD Group will be advising the customers of the store on the usage of the ATM, Idea said.
"Bitcoin and Litecoin are new generation currencies, so it is important that both Belgrade and Serbia have a two-way ATM that gives us the opportunity to be part of the global market, that is, we can buy and sell cryptocurrencies whenever we want," the marketing communications manager of Idea brand, Natasa Pavlovic, said.
The ATM at the Idea London store has a limit of 100,000 dinars ($1,038/847 euro) per transaction and 200,000 dinars per day. Any transaction has a commission of 5%, according to data from the corporate website of ECD Group.
The cryptocurrency exchange company operates a total of two ATMs allowing the purchase of cryptocurrencies in Belgrade and Novi Sad.
