May 9 (SeeNews) - The number of new residential buildings completed in Bulgaria in the first quarter of 2023 rose by 1.4% on the year, reaching 1,289, the statistical office said on Tuesday.
The total usable space of newly built dwellings inched up by an annual 0.3% in January-March, to 470,241 sq m, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The highest number of residential buildings, 228, was completed in the capital Sofia, followed by the cities of Plovdiv and Burgas, with 175 and 141, respectively.
Houses made up 81% of all new residential buildings completed in the first quarter of this year, while apartment buildings represented 12.9%, the NSI added.
