April 27 (SeeNews) - French car manufacturer Renault said on Friday it has named Daniel Filip its new marketing director for Romania.
Starting May 1, Daniel Filip will be in charge of the management of Dacia and Renault brands marketing activities in Romania, Renault said in a statement.
Filip will replace Ionut Gheorghe, who will act as Dacia commercial director within the sales and marketing strategy division of Groupe Renault in Paris.
Daniel Filip has been working with Renault Romania since 2004. "A significant part of my professional career so far has gone into the field of marketing. I wish in my new responsibility to contribute to the consolidation of the successful trajectory of Dacia and Renault brands on the Romanian market," Filip said.
Earlier this month, Renault named Alexander Simionescu as new general manager of its Romanian technology centre Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR). Simionescu is replacing Pascal Candau, who has held this position for three years and will take on other missions within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.
Groupe Renault is present in 127 countries and sold 3.76 million vehicles last year. It owns five brands - Renault, Dacia, Renault Samsung Motors, Alpine and Lada and has an alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi. Renault bought Romania's Automobile Dacia, an ailing state company at the time, in 1999.
