August 8 (SeeNews) - Austria's Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) said on Thursday that its profit after taxes from operations in Bulgaria rose by an annual 13.9% to 37 million euro ($41.5 million) in the first half of 2019.
RBI's operating income in Bulgaria increased 9.9% year-on-year to 89 million euro in the January-June period of 2019, the lender said in an interim financial statement.
Net interest income added 9.8% to 55 million euro, while net fee and commission income jumped 18.1% to 27 million euro.
The company's general administrative expenses in the country edged up 2.4% to 47 million euro in the review period.
RBI's assets in Bulgaria rose by an annual 11.3% to 4.235 billion euro at the end of June.
Deposits from customers grew 15.2% to 3.34 billion euro at the end of June, while loans to customers increased 15.9% to 2.78 billion euro.
RBI's non-performing exposures (NPE) ratio in Bulgaria improved to 1.9% at the end of June from 2.7% a year earlier.
The group had 2,622 employees at the end of June, up from 2,570 a year earlier, and operated 147 business outlets - unchanged compared to June 2018.
