SOFIA (Bulgaria), March 28 (SeeNews) – Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria said on Tuesday Raiffeisen Research has increased its projection for Bulgaria’s economic growth to 3.4% in 2017, from 3.0% forecast in December 2016.
Raiffeisen Research has also raised its economic growth forecast for Southeastern Europe (SEE) to 3.7%, from a previously projected 3.3%, Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria, part of Austria-based Raiffeisen Bank International group, said in a press release.
Unemployment rate in Bulgaria is expected to be 6.4% in 2017 and then fall to 6.0% in 2018, according to the press release.
Raiffeisen Research expects Bulgaria’s inflation to reach 2% in 2018, slightly lower than its projection for the SEE region.
Bulgaria's unemployment rate was 8.2% in February, according to data from the government's employment agency.
Bulgaria's annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 1.7% in February, from 1.4% in the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said earlier this month.
