June 6 (SeeNews) - The tie-up selling 53% of Slovenian retailer Mercator [LJE:MELR] is currently negotiating only with Croatian privately-held concern Agrokor, Zagreb-based media reported, quoting the tie-up.
In May, Slovenian state-run news agency STA quoted unofficial sources as saying that the consortium had received a binding bid from private equity fund Mid Europa Partners alongside the Agrokor offer.

The consortium did not say what stage the talks with Agrokor have reached, news daily Poslovni Dnevnik (www.poslovni.hr) reported on Wednesday.
The daily, which earlier reported that the Croatian company had bid 410 million euro ($530.7 million) for Mercator, quoted unofficial sources as saying they expected that the sale and purchase agreement could be signed in 7-10 days.
Based in Zagreb, Agrokor is the largest company in Croatia, with operations in food and beverages, as well as food retailing.
