October 31 (SeeNews) - The first direct Qatar Airways flight between Bosnia's capital Sarajevo and Doha landed at the Sarajevo International Airport on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a regular service between the two cities, the airport said.
Direct flights will operate four times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with an Airbus A320 aircraft, Sarajevo International Airport said in a statement.
The link between Sarajevo and Doha will facilitate travel to Qatar to an increasing number of Bosnian citizens who live and work in that country and will also boost tourist arrivals to Bosnia, the airport said.
From Doha, passengers flying in from Sarajevo, will have access to 150 destinations worldwide through the city's five-star hub Hamad International Airport.
In August last year, Qatar postponed the scheduled launch of direct flights between Sarajevo and Doha until 2017 due to delayed aircraft delivery.
