January 24 (SeeNews) - Serbia is close to signing an agreement with a large company that will invest nearly 250 million euro ($282.3 million) in a corn processing plant, local media reported on Monday.
No additional details about the deal are available at this point, portal b92.net said.

Earlier on Monday, agriculture minister Branislav Nedimovic told private broadcaster Prva that the unnamed firm plans to develop facilities with a capacity to process 500,000 tonnes of corn per year.
"Why should we sell corn on the stock exchange, when we can produce starch or glucose," Nedimovic commented.
