April 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenian postal operator Posta Slovenije has invested 14.7 million euro ($16.6 million) in the acquisition of a packet transport router for its logistics centre in Ljubljana, it said.
The router will represent the backbone of the entire logistics process at the Ljubljana centre and will increase the packet handling capabilities of Posta Slovenije, the company said in a statement last week.
Posta Slovenije also said it invested 1.2 million euro in the installation a third automatic stacking device for unaddressed mail at the logistics centre in Maribor, the company said.
"The focus will be on increasing the capacity, efficiency and quality of services and expanding to regional markets through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. We will cover the Adriatic region, especially in the field of logistics services. We will expand the capacities of both postal logistics centres and build additional storage and handling capacities," the general manager of Posta Slovenije, Boris Novak, said in the statement.
Posta Slovenije plans to make investments worth 34 million euro in 2019.
