December 7 (SeeNews) - Portugal's air carrier TAP said on Tuesday it will resume flights on Bucharest-Lisbon route starting July 2017.
The new route will be serviced six days a week with the exception of Tuesdays, with two Airbus aircraft, TAP said in a press release.
TAP announced at the beginning of the year that it would suspend flights from Lisbon to Bucharest, Zagreb, Bogota/Panama, Gothenburg, Hannover and Budapest starting March 27 in an attempt to improve its profitability.
Following TAP's decision, low-cost air carriers Blue Air and Wizz Air introduced flights from Bucharest to Lisbon.
TAP Portugal is the flag carrier airline of Portugal, headquartered at Lisbon Airport which also serves as its hub. It is a member of the Star Alliance and operates on average 2,500 flights a week to 76 destinations in 29 countries worldwide with a fleet of 80 airplanes.
