PODGORICA (Montenegro), June 19 (SeeNews) – Montenegrin company Adriatic Marinas said on Friday it is in talks with several large global operators for the construction of an exclusive casino within its Porto Montenegro luxury yacht port and marina village in Tivat.
The casino has a projected value of 12-15 million euro ($13.6-17 million), but the nature of the partnership and the investment program will depend on the chosen operator, a company spokesperson told SeeNews over the phone.
“We are trying to find the best possible licensee. Each individual project within the Porto Montenegro resort must be of global standards,” the spokesperson said.
The planned underground and above-ground area of the casino is 7,300 sq m, data from the country's tourism ministry indicated.
In February, official data indicated the Montenegrin authorities had issued a building permit to Adriatic Marinas for the construction of a heliport in Porto Montenegro.
Last summer, a five-star waterfront Regent hotel worth 55 million euro opened for business within the yacht port and marina village.
Porto Montenegro currently offers 450 berths for yachts 12-180 m in length and it is planned by completion to offer 850, including 350 specifically for superyachts - the largest offering in Europe, data from its website indicated.
Tivat is located in the bay of Kotor, the largest natural harbour in the eastern Mediterranean with 62 miles of coastline.
