"Cluj-Napoca is the Silicon Valley of Romania and Porsche Engineering's decision to develop here is a logical one. We will continue to develop our activity in Romania, we have already many years of partnership with the higher education institutions in Cluj-Napoca and we want to continue to attract the best engineers in Romania," Porsche Engineering Romania location manager Marius Mihailovici said.
The leased space is part of the Vivido office building project in Cluj-Napoca. Porsche Engineering will take over 2,200 sq m of office space in the near future, with an additional 1,300 square feet of leased land to be taken over in 2020.
This is the largest area bought over the last 12 months in Cluj-Napoca, which is the biggest regional office market outside capital Bucharest.
Porsche opened its engineering centre in Cluj-Napoca in 2016. The centre specialises in innovative software developments for the automotive sector.
Apart from Cluj-Napoca, company also operates engineering centres in Geman cities of Leipzig, Weissach, Wolfsburg and Bietigheim-Bissingen, as well as in Czechia's Prague, China's Shanghai and in Italy's Nardo.
