October 18 (SeeNews) - Polish logistics operator PKP Cargo said it has begun talks regarding the purchase of shares in Romanian companies Vest Trans Rail, Ferest Logistics and Romcargounit.
"The companies operate in the field of rail freight on the Romanian market. Start of talks is part of the implementation of the PKP Cargo Group strategy for the years 2019-2023 for the company's foreign expansion in the Central and Eastern Europe area," PKP said in a statement filed with the Warsaw Stock Exchange on Thursday evening.

Vest Trans Rail SRL, Ferest Logistics SRL and Romcargounit SRL are connected by common shareholders and business operational fields, according to the release.
PKP Cargo stressed that negotiations may not lead to any specific business decision.
PKP Cargo is a logistics operator and a part of the PKP Group in Poland. It is the largest railway freight carrier in Poland and second largest in the European Union, according to its website.
