January 21 (SeeNews) - Polish real estate developer MLP Group said on Monday it has started the construction of its first logistics park in Romania.
The MLP Bucharest West park is being built in Bucharest’s north-western outskirts, near Chitila, in Ilfov county, MLP said in a press release.
Work is currently underway on the construction of a 12,000 sq. m. facility. In total, over 22,000 sq. m. of modern warehousing space will be built during the first stage of the project.
Ultimately, over 95,000 sq m of space will be available to tenants in MLP Bucharest West. Sagex Construct has been selected as the general contractor for the project.
"We are currently at an advanced stage in the process of negotiating lease agreements with potential tenants. We are confident that by the time we wrap up the construction process, which should take place no later than in mid-2019, all available space in our park will be commercialized," MLP Group sales director for Poland and Romania, Agnieszka Góźdź, said.
In Poland, the group operates seven logistics parks and two logistics park under construction. Under a developer agreement, the group is also responsible for the commercialization of a logistics park, which was sold in 2015. In Germany, the MLP operates one logistics park.
