August 14 (SeeNews) - Croatian state-owned gas transmission system operator Plinacro said it is investing 209.5 million kuna ($32.2 million/28.2 million euro) in the construction of the first compressor station on the country's gas transport system, in the region of Moslavina.
The compressor station, with maximum power of 4.2 MW and capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per hour, is expected to start compressing natural gas during a trial period in the third quarter of 2019, Plinacro said in a statement last week.
The works on the station, which will be financed entirely from Plinacro's own funds, will be carried out by local firms Monter – strojarske montaze, Elektrocentar Petek and S.C.A.N..
Once completed, the compressor station will improve Croatia's security of gas supply by improving the management of the existing transport capacities and allowing for their rational increase according to the needs of the market, Pliancro said.
