February 1 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian unit of tobacco company Philip Morris International (PMI) said on Thursday it opened the first specialised boutique in Bulgaria for its tobacco heating system IQOS on January 31.
"We are glad that we can offer a better choice to nearly 2.5 million users in the country," George Margonis, general manager of Philip Morris Bulgaria said in a statement.
The company's IQOS tobacco heating system consists of three components - an IQOS holder, a charger and a heated tobacco unit, called HEETS.
In November last year, PMI said it has started production of HEETS at its manufacturing plant in Otopeni, Romania.
In July 2017, PMI announced that it will invest 490 million euro ($584 million) to turn the cigarette factory in Otopeni into a HEETS production plant.
Philip Morris International is one of the world's leading tobacco companies, with six of the world's top 15 international brands and products sold in more than 180 markets.
