BUCHAREST (Romania), October 2 (SeeNews) – German vacuum systems manufacturer Pfeiffer Vacuum said on Tuesday it has opened a new production site in Romania's northwestern city of Cluj.
The continuous growth of the Pfeiffer Vacuum Group and the ongoing demand for vacuum technology made necessary this modern new building, Pfeiffer said in a press release.
Pfeiffer Vacuum has been operating in Cluj since 2010.
The new site was inaugurated on September 26 and employs 74.
Pfeiffer Vacuum's new 4,300 sq m building is located in the Nervia Industrial Park in Apahida.
"The new building has increased our production and service capacity for turbo pump and backing pump components. This is part of our new growth strategy including a global investment program with a volume of 150 million euro ($174 million)," the CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG, Eric Taberlet, said.
"With modern machinery and plant technology as well as qualified specialist personnel, we are now even better placed to react flexibly. Quality and flexibility are our top priorities," he added.
The new building and production facilities comply with the latest findings and technologies for optimum use of resources.
Headquartered in Asslar, Germany, Pfeiffer Vacuum develops, manufactures and markest components and systems for vacuum generation, measurement and analysis as well as helium leak detectors.
It has eight manufacturing sites in Germany, France, South Korea, Romania, the U.S. and Vietnam and employs 3,000.
