December 22 (SeeNews) - The percentage of non-financial enterprises in Bulgaria expecting to discontinue their operations due to the coronavirus crisis dropped on a monthly comparison basis in November, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Wednesday.
In November, as many as 1.8% of non-financial enterprises expected to discontinue their operations in a month's time because of the pandemic, compared to 2.3% in October, the NSI said in a statement, citing the results of a survey it had conducted among nearly 3,800 companies employing approximately 230,000 people.
The results of the November survey showed that the majority of the respondents, 94%, expected to continue to operate as usual in December, while 2.6% planned to temporarily suspend operations.
As many as 13.1% of the companies put employees on paid leave in November. Firms whose employees worked from home represented 10.4% of all respondents.
The results of the survey also showed that 28.3% of the companies recorded lower operating revenues in November, compared to October, 54.5% reported no changes, while 16.7% increased their revenue.
Of the companies active in culture, sports, and entertainment, 39.6% saw their revenues decline in November. This was reported by 33.3% of the real estate companies and by 31.9% of the companies active in trade, transportation, and food services.
