PODGORICA (Montenegro), February 17 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s two international airports, in Podgorica and Tivat, serviced a combined 1.865 million passengers in 2016, an increase of 10.9% over the previous year, data from the statistical office showed on Friday.
In the fourth quarter of 2016 alone, the two Montenegrin international airports handled 263,000 passengers, versus 226,000 in the respective period of 2015.
Podgorica airport serviced 178,456 passengers in the fourth quarter of 2016, versus 354,354 in the third quarter of the year.
Tivat airport, in turn, handled 82,946 passengers in the last three months of last year, down from 603,985 in July-September 2016.
The total cargo traffic processed at the two airports decreased to 222 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2016, compared to 258 tonnes in the period July-September.
