LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 19 (SeeNews) – Total passenger traffic at Slovenia's three international airports - in Ljubljana, Maribor and Portoroz, increased 8% on the year in 2018, reaching 1.81 million, the statistical office said on Friday.
As much as 93% of all passengers were carried by scheduled flights at Ljubljana Airport, with the largest passenger traffic recorded to or from Germany (15%) and the United Kingdom (16%), the statistical office said in a statement.
As many as 62% of the passengers on scheduled flights travelled between Ljubljana and airports in the EU-28.
Cargo traffic at the airports of Ljubljana, Maribor and Portoroz increased by 6% to 12,363 tonnes last year.
In comparison with 2017, the traffic of goods at Ljubljana Airport increased by 17% in the year in 2018, reaching 12,357 tonnes, most of it carried on scheduled flights.
