August 16 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Croatia's seaports rose 55.7% on the year to 8.456 million in the second quarter of this year, the country's statistical office said.
Ship arrivals numbered 89,159 in the period from April to June, up 24.1% on the year, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a quarterly report last week.
Cargo traffic at the Croatian seaports rose 14.5% on the year, to 7.115 million tonnes in the second quarter of 2022.
In the first half of this year, passenger traffic at the Croatian Adriatic seaports went up 45.9% on the year to 11.418 million, ship arrivals rose 13.4% to 139,884 and cargo traffic increased 9.7% to 12.267 million tonnes.
Passenger traffic at Croatia's Adriatic seaports soared 45% to 27.3 million in 2021, but was still below the pre-pandemic level.
