May 12 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Croatia's seaports rose 1.2% on the year to almost three million in the first quarter of this year, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Compared to the first quarter of pre-pandemic 2019, the traffic of passengers was 2.0% higher, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a quarterly report.
Ship arrivals numbered 49,589, down 2.2% on the year.
Cargo traffic rose 14.9% on the year, to 5.918 million tonnes, due to a 32.8% annual increase in the traffic of liquid bulk goods, which accounts for 47% in the total traffic of goods, and a 16.4% increase in the traffic of dry bulk goods, which has a 33% share in the total traffic of goods.
The traffic of containerized cargo, which has a 14% share in the total traffic of goods, decreased by 14.8%.
