March 1 (SeeNews) - As many as 7,373 Ukrainian refugees have entered Bulgaria through the country's border checkpoints with Romania at Ruse, Durankulak, Kardam, and Silistra since February 24, when Russia launched its military invasion of Ukraine, Bulgarian media reported.
Of all Ukrainian refugees who crossed into Bulgaria, only four requested humanitarian protection, the state-run Bulgarian News Agency quoted a border police spokesperson as saying on Monday.
Most of the refugees said that they were going to stay with relatives, friends, or in hotels, the spokesperson added.
Last week, the Bulgarian government decided to send humanitarian and military logistical aid to Ukraine, thus joining 25 donor states from the EU and NATO.
