March 1 (SeeNews) - Hungarian banking group OTP said on Friday the net profit of its Croatian unit, OTP Hrvatska Banka, rose 46% on the year in 2018, reaching 24.9 billion Hungarian forints ($89.5 million/78.8 million euro).
OTP Hrvatska Banka's net interest income grew 22% to 54.0 billion forints, while its net fee and commission income increased 27% to 16.04 billion forints, OTP said in unaudited consolidated annual 2018 financial report.
In May 2017, OTP purchased a 100% stake in Splitska Banka from French banking group Societe Generale for 425 million euro. In December 2018, OTP Hrvatska Banka successfully completed the integration of Splitska Banka into its structure.
Gross loans of OTP's Croatian unit increased 5% compared to the end-2017 figure to 1.1 trillion forints, while total assets grew 1% to 1.8 trillion forints.
In Southeast Europe, OTP is also present in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Croatia.
