Earlier this month, OTP's local unit Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka completed the acquisition of a 90.55% stake in Societe Generale Banka Montenegro for 35.6 million euro ($39.6 million).
"I hope that during this merger process we will be able to select the best products that both banks have, and that we will provide to the clients of the former Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka and Societe Generale Banka Montenegro the best products and services that will respond to their needs and demand," Csanyi said.
Last week, OTP said it plans to complete the integration of Societe Generale Banka Montenegro, renamed to Podgoricka Banka, in the second half of next year. After the completion of the integration process, Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka and Podgoricka Banka will become the largest bank in Montenegro, based on the size of the ATM network and number of branches, and loan and deposit portfolios, the Hungarian group said.
