BUCHAREST (Romania), April 26 (SeeNews) – Polish-listed hotel group Orbis, the strategic partner of AccorHotels in Eastern Europe, said it has opened its first ibis Styles hotel in Romania, in the western city of Arad.
The hotel was built together with Orbis' local partner and investor, FAB Industry, Orbis said in a press release on Wednesday.
"The opening of ibis Styles in Arad confirms our ambition to strengthen our leadership position in the region by further developing our hotel chain, especially through partnerships with strong investors," Orbis and AccorHotels Eastern Europe management committee member Sylwia Pawelczyk-Masluk said.
ibis Styles Arad Hotel has 72 rooms, including six suites, a restaurant serving international cuisine, a lobby bar, six meeting rooms and a multifunctional event room.
ibis Styles is AccorHotels' economy brand and has almost 400 properties worldwide.
"The opening of the first ibis Styles hotel in Romania was a great opportunity for FAB Industry, because it is both a solid investment and a chance for us to diversify our business," FAB Industry owner Flavius Balaj said.
In March, Orbis named Emeline Sýkora-Wintrebert as its new area general manager for the region of Southeast Europe.
In August 2017, Orbis said it plans to open the first ibis Styles hotel in capital Bucharest, together with its local partner and investor Constructii Erbasu in mid-2018.
The Orbis Hotel Group is the largest network of hotels in Poland and in Eastern Europe. Orbis comprises 126 hotels and is the sole licensor of all AccorHotels brands in 16 countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The hotels operate under the brand names Sofitel, MGallery by Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel,Mercure, adagio, ibis, ibis Styles and ibis budget.
