July 26 (SeeNews) - Orange Moldova, the local unit of France Telecom's Internet and mobile arm Orange, said on Tuesday its second quarter revenues dropped 6.1% on the year to 30 million euro ($32.9 million), affected by a downturn in incoming international traffic since the last quarter of 2015.
Orange Moldova's first-half revenues fell to 58 million euro from 62 million euro in the same period of last year, Orange said in its revenue statement.
In the first quarter of the year, the operator recorded a 28 million euro revenue, down 6.5% on the year.
Orange Moldova had 2.103 million clients at the end of June, down from 2.139 million at the end of 2015.
The blended annual revenue per user (ARPU) declined to 4.4 euro in the three months through June, from 5.2 euro a year earlier.
The operator's 4G network covers 95% of the country's population.
On June 29, Orange Moldova signed an agreement on the acquisition of Moldovan cable and pay TV company Sun Communications.
The transaction will allow Orange to enter the fixed-line and pay TV services market and offer new services, particularly convergent offers and services across fixed, mobile and pay TV services.
At a group level, Orange posted revenues of 20 billion euro for the first half, up 0.3% on the year.
