ZAGREB (Croatia), February 4 (SeeNews) – Only 23% of existing home PC users in Croatia plan to buy a new device this year, market research firm IDC Adriatics said on Thursday, citing the findings of a consumer survey.
As many as 76% of home PC users eyeing new computer hardware will opt for a laptop, the survey found.
According to IDC, 46% of respondents do not intend to buy a new PC in 2010, while 31% are not sure.
The top choice among the polled consumers in terms of brand names is HP with a 31% share, followed by Acer with 22%, Toshiba and Asus with 18% and Lenovo with 13%, IDC said.
A total of 62,971 PCs were sold in Croatia in the third quarter of 2009, down 28.3% on the year, with business slowing across all segments - desktops, laptops and x86 servers, the research firm said in November.
