SKOPJE (North Macedonia), March 5 (SeeNews) – North Macedonia's trade deficit rose to 9.5 billion denars ($174.3 million/153.6 million euro) in January from 8.6 billion denars in the same month of 2018, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports fell 1.9% on the year to 25.5 billion denars in January, while imports grew 1.4% to 35.0 billion denars, Makstat said in a statement.
North Macedonian exports mainly consisted of supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in motor vehicles, aircraft or ships.
The country predominantly imported platinum alloys, petroleum oils and flat-rolled iron or non-alloy steel products.
North Macedonia's main trading partners in January were Germany, the UK, Greece, China and Bulgaria.
