SKOPJE (North Macedonia), January 8 (SeeNews) – North Macedonia's trade deficit rose to 107.7 billion denars ($1.94 billion/1.74 billion euro) in the eleven months through November, from 100.5 billion denars in the like period of 2018, the statistical office said on Wednesday.
Exports increased by 10.0% on the year to 364.1 billion denars in the January-November period, while imports grew 9.4% to 471.7 billion denars, Makstat said in a statement.
Imports were 77.2% covered by exports in the period under review.
North Macedonia's exports mainly consisted of supported catalysts containing precious metals or precious metal compounds as an active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in motor vehicles, aircraft or ships.
The country predominantly imported platinum alloys and oil.
North Macedonia's main trading partners in the January-November period of 2019 were Germany, the UK, Greece, Serbia and Italy.
