March 17 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's government said that it has ordered the closure of all borders and Skopje International Airport as of March 17, aiming to contain the further spread of the coronavirus disease in the country.

The government said in a statement on Monday that all of the country's borders with neighbouring countries must be closed at midnight the same day.

The airport in Skopje is set to be closed within 48 hours, the statement reads.

The airport in the country's lakeside city of Ohrid was closed as of midnight on March 15.
