January 8 (SeeNews) - Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] generated the highest turnover on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Wednesday, as stock indices ended down, bourse data showed.
A total of 1,626 NIS shares changed hands in turnover of 1.2 million dinars. NIS closed down 0.53% at 745 dinars.
The BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, ended the session down 0.44% at 798.18 points.
Lender Komercijalna banka [BEL:KMBN] led the blue-chip gainers' list, as its share price rose 0.18% to 3,376 dinars.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, closed down 0.26% at 1,722.25.
The total turnover on the bourse amounted to 670.3 million dinars ($6.3 million/5.7 million euro) on Wednesday, up from 9.7 million dinars on December 31, when the previous trading session was held, as 139 transactions were carried out.
Trading on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) of the stock exchange generated a turnover of 661.3 dinars.
No Treasury bonds changed hands on the stock exchange on Wednesday.
