August 13 (SeeNews) - Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] generated the highest turnover on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Monday, as share indices ended down, bourse data showed.
A total of 24,443 of the company's shares changed hands, generating a turnover of 16.6 million dinars. NIS lost 0.73% and closed at 680 dinars.
Agricultural chemicals maker Galenika Fitofarmacija [BEL:FITO] led the blue-chip gainers' list on Monday after winning 0.18% and closing at 2,805 dinars. A total of 15 of the company's shares changed hands, generating a turnover of 42,075 dinars.
The BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade bourse, went down 0.29% to 740.78 points on Monday. The index fell 0.47% on Friday.
The broader BELEXline, a free‐float market capitalisation weighted index, lost 0.22% to 1,534.29 points on Monday, after decreasing 0.32% on Friday.
Cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] paced the blue-chip decliners' list on the Belgrade bourse on Monday, after losing 1.32% and closing at 2,020 dinars. A total of five of the company's shares changed hands, generating a turnover of 10,100 dinars.
The total stock trading turnover on the bourse rose to 24.3 million dinars ($234,984/205,975 euro) on Monday from 5.0 million dinars on Friday, as 54 share transactions were carried out. Trading on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) of the bourse came in at 80,200 dinars.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 362.1 million dinars to the total turnover of 386.4 million dinars on the stock exchange.
